Kalamazoo’s own Nick DeKoff is back in West Michigan after a 12 years touring out of Music City, USA (Nashville, TN). One of the original founders and frontmen of the country rock music duo the Mulch Brothers - Nick toured with the band for 10 years opening for acts such as Bon Jovi, Big & Rich, Keith Anderson, Gary Nichols, Lee Ann Womack, Eric Church, Jewel and Craig Morgan playing notable shows at NASCAR Bristol Motor Speedway night race (2010), playing the Hangout during the inaugural Hangout Beach Festival (2010) and being one of Sprint’s featured artists during the CMA Music Festival (2008-2011).
An accomplished songwriter as well, Nick co-wrote the Mulch Brother’s first self-released single “Love Run Wild” that was featured in regular rotation on Sirius/XM Radio’s Prime Country station from 2009-2010. Nick was also writer/performer on the band’s first single with the Savannah Music Group - “Lucky You” - which received significant national airplay and was featured in the Lifetime Original Movie “12 Men of Christmas.”
Additionally, Nick co-wrote the song hit single “Steal You Away” performed by the Randy Rogers Band. The song was also featured in the movie Country Strong featuring Gwenyth Paltrow and Tim McGraw. His song "Knee Deep In It" was featured in the national advertising campaign for the Farm Boy Clothing line.
Nick left the Mulch Brothers in 2012 and toured the country with Nashville recording artist Nick Sturms. Nick toured the country for several years opening for acts Lynyrd Skynyrd, Montgomery Gentry, Trace Adkins, Eric Pasley, Frankie Ballard, Big and Rich and Trace Adkins/Wynona Judd on the “Country Cruising” boat with Norwegian Cruise Lines.
