Monte Pride is a Lansing-born, Lansing-based singer-songwriter & fingerstyle guitarist whose songs recall the delicate vocals of Simon & Garfunkel, with guitar-work reminiscent of Nick Drake and The Tallest Man on Earth. His new album presents healing songs to remind that experience, relationships, lives, their love and light persist, "Even In Absence". Themes of loss & resilience, trial & growth, accumulation & change surface at the album’s center as Pride’s rich tenor voice, vivid songwriting, accomplished guitar technique, and lush arrangements spellbind. The album was mixed by Ian Gorman at La Luna Recording & Sound in Kalamazoo, MI and features Samantha Cooper, Brandon Foote & Bethany Turner-Foote, Drew Howard, Benjy Joung, Mark Lavengood, Max Lockwood, Laurel Premo, and Lily Talmers.
Darcy Wilkin Solo: Darcy Wilkin is a singer-songwriter from Kalamazoo, Michigan. A longtime member of Americana band The Corn Fed Girls, she has just released her debut solo album, Bristol, produced by Joe Newberry and engineered by Martin Klemm.
Brian Koenigsknecht: "Kalamazoo singer/songwriter Brian Koenigsknecht is as respected as any writer in Southwest Michigan. Now in his 40s, he's long created incisive, brilliantly crafted songs, but has really upped the ante and raised his profile with his last couple of albums ... If you've ever seen him play or heard him play live he has this amazing, distinctive, beautiful, gorgeous voice that really turns your head. I think it really sets him apart from a lot of other singers."
This is a seated performance.
